Behind the Scenes: Taping of the New Tae Bo System

Our own Marisa is on set in California as Billy tapes the latest Tae Bo workout DVDs. This week she’ll be giving us a behind-the-scenes scoop. She wrote this post Monday night.
We just finished our first day of video shooting. What a fantastic day! There is so much excitement on the set right now.
Tae Bo is evolving, and this new system is transforming our bodies, the way we do Tae Bo, everything! Billy, Shellie and Julieann have been training hard and working on this new system for the last six weeks. And, let me tell you, their bodies have been transformed. Billy, at 52, looks better than he ever has — he is fantastic shape!
Even though our call time was 8 a.m. sharp, we had over 40 people show up today for the first day of filming. Tasha is here with eight girls from her classes, Maria with her daughter Queena, Gina, Melanie, Shoshanna, Cindy, Becky, Stacy, Bridget, Jeanne, Peter, Anthony, Bill and Deon (I’m sure I have missed a few. This is a great group, and we have so many wonderful club members here).
Setup takes a long time. Despite our early call time, we didn’t start filming the first of two videos today until almost noon. Prior to taping, Billy began showing us how he tweaked and modified the moves we’ve all seen before to really engage the core even more. It was amazing to see the difference these changes made in how we moved.
Unfortunately, the air conditioning system is too loud to run during filming, so they have to shut off all of the air as we tape. I participated in the first video of the day, which focuses on all of the moves and relearning proper form and technique. But, don’t let that description fool you — this was a tough workout, especially with the heat and humidity. I kept pushing through and made it. What a fantastic workout!
After the first video, we had lunch. Prior to stepping in to film the second video of the day, I had a chance to speak with Billy briefly and get a few words from him that he would like to share with you. “Get ready for this new system! We had a great time filming this instructional workout and being back out there. We haven’t done a video in over a year and a half. We had an awesome time filming this first video and can’t wait for the next,” Billy said. Can’t you just feel how excited he is about this new system?
During the second video of the day, it was fun to sit back and watch the taping. It’s another incredible workout. Billy is really focusing on engaging the core while working the entire body in each movement. After an exhausting and hot workout, we called it a wrap for the day at almost 6 p.m. The crew and everyone who participated did a fantastic job. And, Rocco was there behind the cameras punching and kicking along with Mommy. I wish you could see how adorable he looked. He’s part of the next generation of Tae Bo. 
I can’t wait for the new videos to be released! I have practically every single Tae Bo tape but love adding in new additions. I am curious, how will these tapes be different? Will they include tools (ex. Billy Bands or Amplifier)? When the dvds release?

Thanks for this post! I wanted so much to be there, but obviously I’m still in snowy WI. It’s not hot and humid here! Keep having tons of fun shooting! It’s going to be so hard to wait for these new workouts to hit the shelves!
